Lakeview is a hard-working neighborhood in East Worcester. It is sometimes referred to as the "Lake Park" neighborhood. Lakeview borders the southern side of the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, which is a huge source of employment in the neighborhood. Occupancy of Lakeview is a good mix of homeowners and renters. Lakeview real estate is made up primarily of apartment complexes and single-family homes that are small (studio to two bedrooms) to medium (three or four bedrooms) in size. The average real estate price in Lakeview is currently estimated at $219,619. The median rental price is presently estimated at $981.

Much of Lakeview's real estate is residential. Many of the homes in Lakeview were built between 1940 and 1969, although a good portion of the residential real estate was built prior to 1940. One big attraction in Lakeview is Lake Park, which runs from Lake Avenue to Hamilton Street. Lake Park is the third largest municipal park in Worcester, and is located directly across from Lake Quinsigamond. In addition to biking and hiking trails, Lake Park is home to tennis courts, a playground, Tivnan Field, a state-of-the-art baseball field.
